Soundscapes:
The Garden of Eden (2024, 2:27, stereo)
First encounters with the Morphagene, speaking of and seeking heaven itself.
Polyrhythmic Powerchord (2024, 0:30 tape loop)
The tape is composed of 4 tracks.
Track 1: Sampled hydrophone sounds: from the running river at aqua-terra nature preserve in Vestal, NY, which I then speed-manipulated to enhance the clicking of the ELF mic sample loop, giving a second dimension to the harmonious combination of electricity.
These wider clicks seek to speak to the rhythmic clicking happening with the musical notes. This track also seeks to complete the loop, and ride the ears into the next playthrough.
EQ was modulated by hand during the playback and subsequent recording.
Track 2: Bb (+1 octave) ELF microphone sample, pointed at a SONY ECM-MS907 mic, recorded, sampled, and looped (using the phonogene). Playing with speed, I found a note that was neither too high nor low, so that it would be discernable and pleasurable to the ears while retaining a sense of unsettledness (as power chords usually do, for me).
Track 3: F (+0 octave) The same sample, but pitched down a fifth, resulting in an electric “POWER CHORD”.
Track 4: Bb (+0 octave) The same sample, but pitched down a whole octave. Done to enhance the aural latitude of the piece.

To the spider living in-between the window and the screen,
where are you?
Your web has laid here for some time now, and yet there is no sign of you.
